Lanier, originally from Birmingham, Alabama, has served at Christ Community the last thirteen
years. He graduated from Belhaven College and has a MDiv degree from Columbia Theological
Seminary and a Masters in counseling from the University of South Alabama.
His responsibilities include pastoral care and counseling, the Prayer Ministry, Hospital
Visitation and Global Outreach Ministry. Lanier serves as director of the annual Spiritual Life
Conference, i n s i d e o u t. He preaches periodically as well as teaches in the Adult Bible Fellowships.
His wife Karen teaches at Caldwell Academy and also a women's bible study class on
Sunday mornings here at CCC. The Ellises have three married children, Matt Ellis, Carolyn Decker and Kathryn Knight.
