February-May--Sunday Supper Schedule.
March 14 (church sponsored): This is one you don't want to miss! We will have supper provided and after our fellowship at the table, the Session will be sharing with the congregation an update of where Christ Community presently is, where we would like to go, and how we'd like the congregation to assist the achievement of that vision by using their time, talents and resources. Dinner starts at 5:30 p.m. We will begin our prayer meeting at 6:15. After a short devotional, we will pray together in small groups. We're dismissed by 7:15. Our prayer time always seems to fly by. Come as we pray together for our church, each other, reformation, revival, and the advance of the reign of King Jesus in the world.
Ongoing--Men's Small Groups. We have started our new men's small groups, centered on a study called Christianity Explored. Three time slots during the week are offered: one on Wednesday nights at 7, one on Thursday nights at 7, and one on Friday mornings at 6:30. To register, please email James Dickson.
Sunday, March 7, 6:30 p.m--Upward Basketball Awards Celebration. Join us in the Fellowship Hall. This year's participants will be recognized. There will also be entertainment & a Gospel presentation by Mark Lippard, a variety entertainer.
Saturday, March 13, 8 a.m.-noon (closed noon-1 p.m.) 1-4 p.m. (half-priced sale)--Re-New" Children's Spring/Summer Consignment Sale. The consignor receives 70 percent of the profit from their sold items and 30 percent goes to Children's Ministry. If you would like to consign in the sale please contact Julie Streng, who will
assign you a number and send you all the information. If you would like to volunteer for a three-hour shift (or more) please contact Debbie Cain.
We need volunteers to work on receiving days, Thursday, March 11, 5-8 p.m. and 6-9 p.m. and Friday, March 12, 9 a.m-noon, noon-3 p.m., and 6-9 p.m., as well as the day of the sale. If you volunteer you will be able to shop from 6-7:30 p.m. on Friday, March 12. We would love for you to volunteer and consign with us. There is a volunteer sign up board outside of the fellowship hall (children's wing side). Hope to see you at the sale.
Friday, March 19, 6 p.m., and Saturday, March 20, 9 a.m.--Inquirer's Class Interested in finding out more about CCC? The Inquirer's Class is our way of orienting prospective members to the history, doctrine, and ongoing ministries of Christ Community. The first session will be Friday night from 6-8:30 p.m. with dinner provided.Class will continue the next morning at 9. Sunday, April 11--Watoto Children's Choir Please mark your calendars, plan your familly's attendance, and invite friends to hear wonderful music. In the coming days, requests will go out for families of CCC to consider hosting children in your home. Also, this event will be funded by a love offering taken that evening. Please begin considering how your family might assist in the cost of this ministry opportunity. Consider also this challenge: take what you might ordinarily spend on family or personal entertainment, and set it aside for this great ministry! Fran and Richard Barnes will be coordinating this event and will need much help. If you can consider providing housing or other needs, please contact them at 643-0841.
