Global Outreach

PURPOSE: The Scriptural purpose of our church's involvement in Global Outreach is to glorify God by challenging, encouraging and equipping every member of the church body to take a personal role in fulfilling the Great Commission of Christ (Matthew 18:18-20; Acts 1:8).

TASKS & RESPONSIBLITITIES

  1. Educate and inspire the congregation in the field of global outreach including, but not limited to the following: offering periodic short term missions trips, purchasing missions materials for the church library, providing articles for the Compass (our church's newsletter), providing an annual Global Outreach Conference, and making missionary newsletters available to the congregation.
  2. Administer the funds allocated to global outreach.
  3. Stimulate the church's intercessory prayer for all the people groups in the world.
  4. Administer the GO team ministry and evaluate missionaries and agencies currently supported or seeking support from our church.
  5. Determine the geographic focus areas for Christ Community Church emphasis (currently Russia and Mexico).

MISSIONS TRIPS

Our Global Outreach Team and Community Outreach Team places a high priority on getting our people actively involved in short-term missions, summer mission trips and other missions projects. The most recent short term trips were a youth trip to Rio Verde, Mexico and a trip to the USA Gulf Coast to assist in rebuilding after hurricane Katrina and Rita.

A sub-committee of the Global Outreach Team will approve candidates for short-term mission work. At a minimum, candidates should meet the following criteria:

  1. Be a committed Christian who has shown desire and ability to lead others to Christ
  2. Have a sincere interest in world missions
  3. Have an interest in and a desire to learn about the culture of the country to which one is going.
  4. Show evidence of faithfulness in ministry, a cooperative spirit, submission to authority and the fruit of the Holy Spirit.
